Make a Discord FAQ helper
Technical setupA bot in a test server that answers a small set of community FAQs.
1. Before you start
- A separate Discord test server and permission to add a bot.
- AstrBot’s current documented runtime or deployment setup, a configured model provider, and Discord integration credentials. Model usage and hosting may cost money.
2. Your first project
- Write five FAQs and the exact answers you want the bot to use.
- Follow AstrBot’s official installation and Discord adapter instructions using a test server.
- Configure the chosen model and keep credentials in the documented private configuration.
- Test all five questions, an unknown question, and a misleading question before considering the main server.
3. Try this prompt
Help me plan a Discord FAQ helper using AstrBot. My five approved FAQs are [FAQs]. Guide me through the current official setup instructions for my operating system. Keep tokens out of chat and source files. Use a test server first. The bot should answer from the approved FAQ, say when it does not know, and direct unanswered questions to a moderator. Give me a small test checklist.

The test bot answers the approved FAQs correctly and handles unknown questions without inventing server rules.
